Toyota Racing Development is redefining the Prius’ image byintroducing a sport package for the new Toyota Prius C Hybrid. While the newToyota Prius C Hybrid brings some sporty styling to Prius lineup, we still likea bit of more aggressiveness to this tamed hybrid car.
TRD is pushing out its aftermarket parts for the ToyotaPrius C Hybrid in Japan, which it is likely to be available to other markets inthe world as well. On the exterior, the sport package from TRD includes a newfront apron with additional air vents and optional LED daytime running lights, side skirts, a roof spoiler, and a rear apron with a matte black diffuser tofit with a dual tailpipes.
In addition, the package also comes with new springs andshock absorbers to lower the car’s height about one inch all around, along witha new set of larger alloy wheels to fill up the fender gaps.
The result of the exterior enhancement is a much moreaggressive looking Toyota Prius C Hybrid. And for the interior, it gets a newTRD push-button start and a few other minor aesthetic accessories.
From what we can tell, Toyota is predicting that this newsports hybrid hatchback will be selling like hotcakes, and the company is wastingno time at all in capitalizing this success by dominating the aftermaket first.
The Toyota Prius C Hybrid will make its North American debutat the upcoming Detroit Motor Show in January, and on the same day, the hybridcar will be on sale in Japan as the Toyota Aqua Hybrid.
