Cadillac set a higher standard for its vehicles, well, thatis what its commercials had us to believe. Kidding asides, Cadillac is sprucingup its best-selling SRX crossover model for 2013 in both the design andtechnology sides.
New for the 2013 Cadillac SRX crossover will come withplentiful technology enhancements, including the new CUE infotainment systemand Cadillac’s Safety Alert Seat featuring vibrating tactile feedback to alertthe driver of incoming danger ahead.
“The 2013 SRX illustrates the Cadillac philosophy of neverleaving well enough alone,” said Don Butler, vice president of marketing forCadillac. “The enhancements for the SRX – including CUE – are examples of howwe’re developing advanced technologies and pushing them consistently throughthe Cadillac portfolio. They are also some of the key elements of the all-newXTS luxury sedan and ATS compact sedan, which will expand the Cadillacportfolio this summer.”
Although the styling changes for the 2013 Cadillac SRXcrossover look subtle, it does however enhance the premium look of this luxurycrossover. These refinements include a new design of the front upper and lowergrilles, front fender vents, and LED light pipes.
As for the interior, it gets a new steering wheel with shiftpaddles and a revision to the instrument panel to accommodate the new CUEinfotainment system featuring new USB and SD card ports, minor rear-seatentertainment upgrades, standard HD radio, and new interior color combinations.In addition, active noise cancellation technology is also included for aquieter driving experience.
Power for the 2013 Cadilalc SRX crossover will be providedby a direct-injection 3.6L V6 engine producing 308 horsepower and 265pound-feet of torque. The engine can be either mated to a FWD or AWD system,which are available on all models.
Other technology features for the 2013 Cadillac SRXcrossover include the new Driver Awareness and Driver Assist technologypackages to help avoid collisions; the two safety packages consist of the RearCross Traffic Alert, Safety Alert Seat technology, Automatic Front and RearBraking, and Adaptive Cruise Control.
The 2013 Cadillac SRX crossover will make its media debuttomorrow at the New York Auto Show, and sales will start in the fall.
