The Opel Astra GTC has been in the works for quite a whilenow, and General Motors’s Opel division just unleashed a rendering art work ofthe car that seem realistic enough. From the video, it may be the productionmodel of the new 2012 Opel Astra GTC that we will get to see the real deal verysoon at the Frankfurt Motor Show on September 15.
The new three-door hatchback 2012 Opel Astra GTC is muchmore streamlined than its predecessor. From what we can see from theserendering photos and video, the new 2012 Opel Astra GTC stays near to itsconcept model that was debut at the Paris Motor Show last year. We only see asmall difference in the round fog lamp housings in the front bumper instead ofthe LED strips found in the concept model.
Under the hood of the 2012 Astra GTC, we will find both petrol and diesel engines that aresimilar in the five-door model. It includes eight fuel-efficient gasoline anddiesel engines, ranging from 95 hp to 180 hp. Adding to the mix is a new1.4-liter turbo gasoline engine producing 120 hp that is mated to a six-speedmanual transmission. And along with a 140 hp version of the 1.4 Turbo engine isalso available with a six-speed automatic transmission. Lastly is the topperformance engine of the 2.0 CDTI engine. This diesel engine produces 160 hpand mated to a six-speed manual gearbox.
The 2012 Opel Astra GTC will begin accepting orders thissummer, and it is expected to deliver by fall. Meanwhile, check out therendering video below.
