The endless race for horsepower is still alive and well.Shelby has just announced its new 2012 Super Mustang with 1,000 horsepower, andit is ready to chomp down the competition. You all know too well who are wetalking about here. We are still mind boggling about this massive horsepower aswe write this post. This is insane power from the factory!
Chevrolet has recently come out with the new 2012 ChevroletCamaro ZL1 that is powered by a supercharged 6.2-liter LSA V8 engine producinga hefty 580 horsepower and 556 pound-feet of torque. Forget about it when itsees this new 1,000-hp Shelby Super Mustang, and not to mention the recent650-hp factory Shelby Mustang or the 800-hp 2012 GT500 Super Snake.
Looks like Ford is winning the power war on this one. Butperhaps power is not the end of all means in the car world or is it not? Eventhough the new 2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1′s power output is no matched for thelikes of Shelby Mustangs, its high-tech equipment makes up where it lacks.
But lets get back to the new 2012 Shelby Super Mustang. Toput the massive 1,000 horsepower down the payment, Shelby has installed biggerbrakes, a more rigid suspension system, a single-piece crafted drivedraft andnine-inch gear plate at the rear axle.
Shelby will start taking orders when the 2012 Shelby SuperMustang is officially unveiled at the New York Auto Show next week. The 2012Shelby Super Mustang will be in limited production of only 1,000 units. Thecost is about $149,995 for the modification plus $50,000 for the base GT500donor car. Ouch! You won’t be seeing this 2012 Shelby Super Mustang in thestreets anytime soon.
